Bangkok’s 10 Best Cafés: Hidden Gems & Popular Favourites

1. % Arabica

Honestly, I don’t drink coffee. But my partner considers himself a bit of a coffee guru, and he absolutely raves about this cafe. And I can’t complain either, this cafe is absolutely gorgeous. % Arabica really focuses on their coffee without too many food options (other than some pastries). I would definitely give this spot a try if you’re on the hunt for good quality coffee.

2. Bubble in the Forest Cafe

Bubble in the Forest Cafe is a bit of a nature cafe. The seating is similar to overwater bungalows in the Maldives. There are plenty of food options here from sweet to savoury dishes, as well as plenty of variety in their drinks.

Bangkok’s Bubble in the Forest Cafe is situated about an hour’s drive outside of central Bangkok. But this should be on every cafe-lover’s bucket list. It’s next to After the Rain Cafe (next up on my list) so it’s worth making a day trip out of it.

3. After the Rain Coffee and Gallery

After the Rain Coffee and Gallery is another popular nature cafe in Bangkok. This cafe is so popular because you are able to take a boat ride within the cafe, through their beautiful canals surrounded by palm trees and other greenery. You just have to spend more than 100 baht per person (about $4.5 AUD), and show your receipt to the workers. Although this is all within the cafe, it feels like a really immersive experience since there are so many trees providing you with privacy from the diners.

There are beautiful seating options available to you with great food options. Although they have plenty of savoury meals available, my partner and I opted for desserts. These were incredible decadent and delicious.

Just like the Bubble in the Forest Cafe, After the Rain is about an hour’s drive from Bangkok. However, these are only about 10 minutes apart, so its worth making a morning of cafe hopping.

4. Olio Crepe & Tea

Located in CentralWorld, Olino Crepe & Tea is renowned for its delectable crepes and premium teas. Guests can indulge in a variety of sweet and savory crepes, each crafted with precision and flair. Pictured is a Dubai Chocolate frappe with cheese foam that was absolutely incredible.

5. Tokyo Sweets

Bringing a slice of Japan to Bangkok, Tokyo Sweets delights customers with traditional Japanese desserts in a minimalist and serene environment. We ordered a cute seal shaped mochi, which was almost too adorable to eat.

6. Butterbear Cafe

Butterbear is a cute bear mascot, but you can find him all over Thailand. Even 7/11 had a collaboration with Butterbear when we visited. But the Butterbear Cafe in Emsphere is well worth the visit if you’re in the area. There are plenty of pastries available, plus merch and pastry gift boxes.

7. Carebears Cafe

Situated in CentralWorld, the Care Bears Café offers a nostalgic trip down memory lane with its themed décor and menu. Guests can savour colourful milk teas topped with Care Bears biscuits, making it a hit among fans and families alike.

8. Café Dior in the Dior Gold House

For those seeking luxury, Café Dior offers an opulent experience within the Dior Gold House. Guests can indulge in exquisite pastries and premium coffee amidst elegant surroundings. Of course being Dior, the prices are on the higher end. However, you can visit the outside of the building for free. The prices were too high for me, so I didn’t eat there. But most people just come for photos and to take in the gorgeous building.

9. Blendies

Blendies offers a unique gelato experience characterized by its chewy, creamy, and thick texture. Their signature pistachio cone, is coated over the gelato, topped with whipped cream. This indulgent treat has quickly become a favourite among dessert enthusiasts. We ordered the pistachio, however they have other flavours including Dubai Chocolate and Macadamia.

10. Flat+White Cafe

A haven for coffee enthusiasts, Flat+White Café is known for its exceptional flat whites and minimalist interior, providing a calm space to enjoy a quality brew. This cafe has gorgeous interior, with their popular wall decor making its way across socials.

Bangkok is the perfect destination for cafe lovers, with everything from immersive nature cafes, themed experiences, or just a good quality coffee. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these cafes, and what’s on your Bangkok cafe bucket list.
